ACTION SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Kick-A-Thon 2022

Action Karate Newtown is super excited to be able to participate in the 2022 ASF Kick-A-Thon. The Kick-A-Thon takes place during the week of February 21 during regular karate classes. During their regular class time, students will be given 10 minutes to complete speed kicks. There will be no breaks or rest periods. They can be any kind of kick (front kick, wheel kick are preferred as they are fast). A kick counts if there’s a chamber, kick, rechamber, and foot touches the ground between kicks. Volunteers will be counting the kicks for each student.

Every student who participates will earn a special kicking stripe for their belt, and the student who raises the most donations in each class (Ninja Sharks, Jr Black Belts and Sr Black Belts) will be awarded a special trophy. Donations will be based on what is pledged at the time the student participates in the Kick-A-Thon. Please bring a completed pledge sheet in order to get credit for all pledges. You can get a copy of the pledge sheet HERE.

Have your families and friends go to https://www.actionscholarshipfund.org/guess to place a guess. A rough estimate is 500 kicks in 10 minutes, but we can expect every student to perform at their own personal best. You don’t have to donate to guess. You don’t have to pay to guess. But it helps build up that excitement for your student and for them to feel that challenge of wanting to meet the expectation of grandmas and aunts and uncles and neighbors and people over the country or world who want to support your child’s martial arts training and give them some encouragement.
