Mr. C

Head Instructor

As a Licensed Professional Engineer, Mr. C has 37 years of experience in establishing and maintaining relationships.

Mr. C has been studying the Martial Arts since March 2004; he has successfully completed the Instructor Training Program at Action Karate and is Head Instructor of Action Karate Newtown.

As Head Instructor, for Action Karate Newtown, Mr. C runs youth and adult classes guiding each student through their Kenpo curriculum. He also trains students, both youth and adult, in the art of teaching Karate classes.

Teaching classes to children and adults on a regular basis is a major part of the Instructor Training Program. As Head Instructor, Mr. C’s martial arts instruction encompasses teaching our students who are young children through adults in Kenpo karate both for self-defense and kata. He also conducts regular review classes for our children and adult students who are testing for their Black Belts. He supports the values of honesty, strength and knowledge, which are the basis of our program.


Miss Anne

Head Instructor

Miss Anne has several years of experience in corporate training, team building, retail display, marketing and special needs education. Miss Anne takes great pride in what we teach and how we can make our community a better place to live and work, by involving our school in many charitable and educational events in and around Bucks County.

She ensures that Action Karate Newtown is an active member of our community by involving our studio in these local programs.  Miss Anne is the head coach for the Senior Demo Team. She takes the time to make sure the music and the demonstration go together smoothly. Miss Anne also ensures that the team running Acton Karate Newtown work together as a unit.  Miss Anne manages all curriculum at Acton Karate Newtown, and takes the time to ensure all instructors know what to teach in a timely manner.

Miss Anne uses her time making sure the studio is running smoothly, and making sure all our students are taken care of. She longs to see all students reach Black Belt Status. Miss Anne is working diligently to learn all that is necessary to guarantee her student’s success.  Miss Anne earned her 3rd degree black belt in October 2015.  She is currently working to earn her 4th degree black belt which she will accomplish in 2019.  


Mr. O

5th Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style Karate, 2018 
Advanced Degree Instructor

As a professional Senior Sales Executive, Mr. O has spent his 30-year career with ePlus Technology, Inc as a Team Leader and Account Executive. Mr. O carries sales certifications in over 25 manufacturers product lines. Part of his time is spent managing public company contracts and negotiating new contracts within his sales organization.  Mr. O greatly enjoys running obstacle races and has recently finished the Spartan Beast, ensuring that he finished the Spartan Trifecta.

He is also active in the community with various charities and functions in and around the Newtown area. Mr. O is currently on the board of the Newtown Business Association.

Mr. O has been a member of the Action Karate Leadership Team for the last 10 years, and is a certified Instructor. Mr. O recently took over the Leadership team at Action Karate Newtown, and he heads up the sparring program and ensures the curriculum keeps our students on track with other schools.  When he is not on that mat Mr. O ensures that the advanced degree curriculum is up to date and challenging.

Mr. O has been studying Martial Arts since June 2004. During his tenure, he has also studied Tang Soo Do and Krav Maga styles.  Mr. O earned his 5th degree black belt in June 2018, making him a Master.  He continues to train and hopes to one day have the opportunity to earn his 6th degree, which could happen in 2024.


Miss McKenzie

Enrollment Director


Miss McKenzie began her employment at Action Karate Newtown in 2014, where she was working our front desk. Shortly after, she started her Black Belt training.  In December of 2015, McKenzie graduated from Bucks County Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Communications.

She also works with children in private lessons to help builds confidence in students in private lessons and first lessons. Miss McKenzie thoroughly enjoys working with children; Action Karate Newtown has helped her recognize how rewarding it is and has influenced and guided her to her area of study.

Miss McKenzie became the Enrollment Director at Action Karate Newtown in 2017.  She takes great joy in making sure all our students are on track to earning their black belts.  She also ensures that our students are in the appropriate class and works with families to make enrollments work for them.  Miss McKenzie also directs all our marketing and event participation. If you see us out and about at events in the community please stop by and say “hi”.  Miss McKenzie is also the head coach for our Junior Demo Team. She greatly enjoys making up the music and demonstration for all competitions and events. Miss McKenzie helps instruct our Advance Degree class.  

Miss McKenzie earned her 1st Degree Black Belt in 2016.  She went on to earn her 2nd degree black belt in 2018.  Miss McKenzie is currently training for her third degree black belt, which she will earn in 2021.


Miss Elora, MSW, LSW

Special Needs Director/Instructor

Miss Elora has been working at Action Karate Newtown since 2009.  In her time here she has worked closely with our families and their children.  She can now be seen in the office managing all our student’s files. In January 2017, Miss Elora became the instructor for our Special Needs Class.  Miss Elora spearheads the special needs program at Action Karate Newtown for our students who need a different style of teaching. It is her passion to ensure that special needs children and youth receive the attention and teaching they deserve. She can also be found instructing private lessons for our special needs students and our mainstream students. Miss Elora also instructs our cardio kickboxing class for adults.  In June 2018, Miss Elora became the instructor for our Kinder Karate (parent participation) class. She greatly enjoys getting to interact with our students and helping them achieve their highest potential.

Miss Elora graduated from Temple University in May 2016, with her Master’s Degree in Social Work.  Elora is also a Licensed Social Worker. She has the capability to apply her Social Work knowledge at the studio, and help where needed. She is able to integrate her education and experiences into working with special needs students.  She does this both on the mat and in private lessons.

Elora began her Black Belt journey in 2011, after watching her father (Mr. C) train for almost 11 years.  She earned her First Degree in October 2015. And she earned her 2nd degree black belt in December 2017.  She is currently training for her 3rd degree Black Belt, which she will earn in 2020.      


Miss Carolyn

Special Needs Instructor

Miss Carolyn graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.  She has worked in the field of Mental Health for over 17 years.  Miss Carolyn currently supervises a unit of Case Managers who work with severely mentally ill adults and children.  She has also previously run group therapy sessions.  She was also the Program Assistant for a Forensic Partial Hospital Program, where she worked with drug and alcohol addicted, mentally ill ex-offenders.

Miss Carolyn joined Action Karate in 2004.  She later earned her Black Belt in 2007.  She went on to earn her Second Degree in 2009.  Miss Carolyn continued her training and earned her Third Degree in 2012.   Miss Carolyn earned her Fourth Degree in 2016.  Miss Carolyn has been a special needs instructor with Action Karate since 2007.  You can find Miss Carolyn instructing special needs students on and off the mat, she also does private lessons for adults, and black belt preparation lessons.  Miss Carolyn greatly enjoys assisting our instructors teach the advanced degree curriculum.


Miss Maureen

2nd Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style 2015


Miss Maureen’s children began taking karate in the fall 2009. Her then kindergartner started as a little ninja and her preschooler began by attending kinder karate. Two years later, Miss Maureen began training for her black belt, which she earned in November 2013. Miss Maureen became an Instructor in July of 2014. She is also the assistant coach for the Senior Demo Team, helps instruct classes and does private lessons.

Miss Maureen partakes and gives back to the community by volunteering with both her children’s school and sports pursuits. Miss Maureen spent over fifteen years working in IT with an emphasis on managing personnel responsible for the maintenance, operation and installation of Windows servers in an international reinsurance organization. Miss Maureen has her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison State College.

Miss Maureen earned her 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2015.  She is currently training for her 3rd Degree which she will earn in December 2018.


Miss Susan

2nd Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style Karate, 2016


Miss Susan has a degree in Business and Photography from Schreiner University. She has pursued both working in retail management for over 20 years and also has a photography business specializing in Environmental Portraiture, Weddings, and Sports Photography.

Miss Susan is mom to two sets of twins, both of which train with Action Karate Newtown. 
Shortly after her children started, Miss Susan began her karate training in May of 2011, during Action Karate Newtown’s Mom’s are free event.

Action Karate Newtown’s Events, Enrichment Programs, Birthday Parties, Photography Opportunities and Charity Work have kept Miss Susan busy. Miss Susan partakes in private lessons with students to ensure they do the best they can do.

She takes an active role in her children’s education and karate training. She is a member of the PTO for at her children’s school.

Miss Susan earned her 2nd Degree Black Belt in December 2016, she set the goal to earn her 3rd degree. She plans on testing for this in 2019


Miss Kayleigh

3rd Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style 2017

Miss Kayleigh began her Martial Arts Journey when she was seven years old. She started karate to help regulate her ADHD and dyslexia. Miss Kayleigh initiated her training at Action Karate Feasterville. During her time there she was part of the junior demo team. She earned her Junior Black Belt when she was 11 years old, and then began volunteering at Action Karate Newtown, when we first opened, 10 years ago! She later transferred to Action Karate Newtown to continue her training.

Miss Kayleigh graduated from Neshaminy High School in 2014. She went on to earn her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Bucks County Community College. She has since transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Here, she is majoring in Criminology with a minor in Religious Studies. She is also a member of the Criminology Association at IUP. Her projected graduation from IUP is December 2019!

While Kayleigh is at the studio you can find her helping out with all our classes, interacting with our students and their parents, and offering assistance in any way she can. She can be seen helping with the Special Needs class on Friday nights. Miss Kayleigh is a 3rd degree black that she earned in 2017. She is currently training for her 4th degree.


Miss Nicole

4th Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style, 2018

Miss Nicole started her karate training at the age of 6 as a Little Ninja at Action Karate Feasterville. She has been a member of both the Junior and Senior demo teams. She has been part of the Instructor Training Program for seven years. Miss Nicole can now be found teaching and instructing classes at Action Karate Newtown. She has been studying the Marital Arts for over thirteen years and in 2014 she earned her Third Degree Black Belt.

She is a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School. Miss Nicole spent most of her high school years participating with the robotics team. After graduating from Archbishop Wood, she accompanied her robotics team to regionals. She is currently attending East Stroudsburg University and studying business.

As one of our first instructors at Action Karate Newtown Miss Nicole spends her time supporting and encouraging our students in their karate training. She can also be found instructing private lessons for some of our special needs students. Miss Nicole takes great pride in what she does at Action Karate Newtown and puts her heart and soul into helping our students become the best that they can be in all that they do. Proudly, Miss Nicole was one of our first employees.


Sensei Justin

2nd Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style, 2017


Sensei Justin began training in the Martial Arts at the age of 5 in 2004, earning his Junior Black Belt in 2010. Shortly after, he began training at Action Karate. In no time, he joined the Leadership Team, taking on the role of helping instruct classes and private lessons. In addition, he spent his time on the demo team, where he was able to perform at events and tournaments.

In 2017, Sensei Justin graduated from Council Rock North High School. He is now studying at Kutztown University, where he plans to major in Secondary Spanish Education with a Minor in Special Education.

In Spring of 2017, Sensei Justin earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt and will be testing for his 3rd Degree Black Belt in December of 2019. Today, Sensei Justin is an Instructor and can be found helping with the Special Needs class on Fridays when he is home from college. He thoroughly loves working with students and his goal is to help students achieve black belt excellence.
