Teenagers benefit in a quite a few ways. socialization with peers, self-defense and life-skills, and of course a higher level of fitness coaching. We believe martial arts classes is excellent for teens especially if they are off to college or or in social settings out on their own.

Miss McKenzie

3rd Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo Style, 2020

Certified Enrollment Director & Instructor

While still in college, Miss McKenzie began her employment at Action Karate Newtown in 2014 where she was working our front desk. During that time, she worked towards her Degree in Communications and English Literature, which can now be seen when communicating with parents and families each week. Shortly after joining our staff, Miss McKenzie began her Black Belt Training.

She then moved on to direct all of our marketing and event participation. If you see us out and about at events in the community, be sure to stop by and say "hi"! Miss McKenzie became Action Karate Newtown's full-time Enrollment Director, following in Mr. O's footsteps, in 2017 which she takes much pride in. She loves meeting students for the first time and helping them build confidence to start their own martial arts training. She also ensures that our students are in the appropriate class and works with families to make memberships work specifically for them.

In addition to making sure our dojo is ran smoothly, Miss McKenzie also heads our Black Belt Testing, which she spends a great amount of time preparing our students in reaching the goal of Black Belt. Miss McKenzie earned her 1st Degree Black Belt in 2016 and her 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2018. She then went on to put herself through an Accelerated High Intensity Program from 2019-2020 to earn her 3rd Degree Black Belt in June of 2020, as part of our first class to test for a black belt amid the 2020 pandemic.
